Gem Help Guide

Set favorite wallets

If you add most of your expenses to a single wallet, like a primary credit card or budget, Gem can automatically choose this wallet for you whenever you create new expenses.

  1. Go to Settings > New items
  2. Under Favorites, tap Keep expenses in...
  3. Choose a wallet
Tip

  • Traveling? Create a new budget (or wallet) for it, like "NYC 2024", and set it as your favorite wallet. Just don't forget to change it when your trips ends 🥸
  • You can also set favorite income category, just look for Keep income in...

Change category list view

When entering expenses, you can choose between viewing your categories in a list or icons

  1. Go to Settings > New items > Category
  2. Under "Show as", tap Grid to see a list of icons

  2. Turn off Show keyboard to show the full list of categories
Tip

You can also change this for wallets

Hide decimals

You can type amounts without the last 2 digits (cents). For example, just $5 instead of $5.34.

  1. Go to Settings > New items > Amount
  2. Turn off Use decimals
Tip

You can also hide decimals across Gem, so amounts like $99.49 will appear as $100. Learn more
