Create a transfer

When you move money between wallets—like from checking to savings—you can record it as a transfer to keep your balances accurate.

  1. Create an expense
  2. After typing the amount, tap the up and down arrows above the "9" button. You'll see the title changes to "Moved"
  3. Tap the first None button to choose the wallet you want to move the money from
  4. Tap the other None button to choose where to move the money to
  5. Tap Add

Limitations

  • You can't edit transfers
  • You can't add a category to transfers
  • You can't repeaet transfers

Deduct transfers from total

Transfers don’t count as expenses or income, since they’re just money moving between your own accounts. you can choose whether transfers should affect your totals or adjust wallet balances, depending on how you prefer to track your money.

  1. Go to Summary
  2. Tap the button on the top-right corner
  3. Tap More options
  4. Under Budget calculation, enable Include transfers

Use wallets for transfer

By default, you can transfer between wallets found in Settings > Wallets. However, if you use multiple organization groups, like "Categories", "wallets" and "Payment methods", you can tell Gem which group you want to use for transfers:

  1. Go to Settings > New items
  2. Scroll down and tap Folders & more
  3. Tap Preferred wallets
  4. Choose the group
